A Christmas Carol for Arline and Anabelle
Friday, December 12, 2008 Arline would be so very happy to meet her great-great-granddaughter Anabelle. Just two years old, Anabelle is the perfect age for learning one of our family's favorite Christmas carols. I know that Arline would be singing along with her: Away in a manger The stars in the sky The cattle are lowing We love you Lord Jesus Be near me Lord Jesus Bless all the dear children
No crib for a bed
The little Lord Jesus
Lay down His sweet head.
Looked down where he lay
The little Lord Jesus
Asleep in the hay.
The poor baby wakes
But Little Lord Jesus
No crying He makes
Look down from the sky
And stay close beside us
Til morning is nigh.
I ask you to stay
Close by me forever
And love me I pray
In thy tender care
And guide us to heaven
To live with You there.

What a nice Christmas greeting to Mama from Anabelle. You are so right that Anabelle would have been the apple of Mom's eye. As I write this I realize you would now be her second favorite. Mama (Arline) would probably take Anabelle for a ice creme cone and let it drip down her face and onto her dress just like she did with you. Merry Christmas. Anabelle's Great G-ma Suzanne.
